FROM ROLAND: MY FIRST BI-WEEKLY BLOG POST

Hola! I must thank you I advance for taking the time to read my new blog and for supporting our concerts and events.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve actually sat and written a blog/newsletter on a regular basis. You can thank my staff/social media/website people for convincing me to share my musical thoughts and interesting music business tidbits with you. My main motivator is the hope that you will write back with your experiences, your thoughts and pictures of our shows, or just a quick note to say hello. Staying connected with those who support and enjoy BMG concerts and events is my main motivator to keep movin’ on. So please, drop me a note by responding to these blog entries or email me at roland@brevardmusicgroup.com. When you do write back please include topics that you’d like me to discuss and write about – I would appreciate that.

Today’s blog entry is just a “dry run”, many more entries to come. I encourage all smooth jazz people who read this to please support our next JazzSeries.com concert staring Jazmin Ghent and Cindy Bradley. These two amazingly talented women are going to ROCK the Studio Theatre this Saturday at 7:30 pm! Tickets are still available at jazzseries.com and kingcenter.com. There is nothing like a smooth jazz show in the small, intimate setting of the King Center’s Studio Theatre! <Interesting Fact>: Did you know BJS presented concerts in that same room; then called the “Royal Onyx” or “Black Box”, as far back as 1996? I remember bringing Jeff Kashiwa, Maynard Ferguson and Bobby “Blue” Bland to that room, amongst others.

DAVE KOZ ON-SALE: The buzz surrounding Dave Koz’s 20th Anniversary Christmas concert with David Benoit, Rick Braun, Peter White and Salina Albright (Gerald Albright’s very talented daughter) at the King Center November 27th is quite strong! I suspect all the really good tickets will sell very quickly. I urge anyone interested in getting great seats to join the BMG Platinum Club today. Joining the club will allow you to purchasing the tickets tomorrow at noon.

The Brevard Jazz Series brought the very first “A Smooth Jazz Christmas” to Brevard 20 years ago and many years after that first show. It’s an honor to partner with the King Center and the Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation to bring the show back to Brevard 20 years later. Dave Koz hasn’t performed in Brevard since 2012. We expect this concert to do very well.

Thank you for taking the time to read blog entry #1! I hope to see you Saturday at the Studio Theatre, please say hello and share your concert pics on the BMG Facebook page during and after the concert!

Many thanks for your support,
Roland
